Swimming Trio Are Present At Christmas OpenThree of Faversham Swimming Clubs premier swimmers returned home from the recent Open Meet held at Kingsmead Pool, Canterbury with their heads held high. Peak performances from a determined thirteen year old Flora Westlake earned her a pair of well deserved silver medals. Her super sprint in the girls 50 metre breaststroke brought her to the finish line in a time of 42.99. Flora’s second silver was achieved during the 200 metre distance breaststroke where she finished with a time of 3.21.88. Twelve year old Olivia Hawkins collected a hat trick of 5th place wins, her blistering pace in the 200 metre backstroke stopped the clock in a time of 3.05.04. Olivia gained a personal best time in the 50 metre freestyle, touching home in 34.16. Her third 5th place win was received in the 50 metre backstroke in a time of 38.26. Eleven year old Joe Wall scooped a 4th place win with his encouraging performance in the 50 metre butterfly with a time of 44.06. Joe also gained a 5th place win with his dash in the 50 metre breaststroke, swimming home in a time of 50.84. Other swimming clubs participating were, amongst others, Folkestone, Canterbury, Beckenham, Greenwich, Tonbridge, Bromley and Petts Wood. |
