Nicola leads club's charge to success 

Faversham Swimming Club returned home with an impressive haul of medals and trophies from the recent Open Meet held at Mote Park, Maidstone.

Nine year old Nicola Crouch shed tears of joy as she gained a Kent time in the girls 50 metre breaststroke race, her sensational swim stopped the clock at a time of 51,95. Whilst Olivia Hawkins scooped a new club record and Kent time with her dash in the girls 50 metre backstroke in a time of 39.88.

Silver trophies were awarded to Blaine Ramsden in the boys 11 years 50 metre freestyle. Blaine also obtained bronze in the boys 11 years 50 metre backstroke in a personal best time of 39.29, Lily Jarvis Keysell took bronze in the girls 15 years 100 metre backstroke.

Swimmers snatching 4th place medals were Joe Wall in the boys 10 years 50 metre butterfly in a personal best time of 45.48, Joe also took 4th in the 50 metre breaststroke. Lydia Scott gained 4th place in the girls 13 years 100 metre freestyle.

5th place winners were Richard Catton in the boys 10 years 50 metre freestyle (P.B.36.71), Olivia Hawkins girls 11 years 50 metre backstroke (P.B.39.88) and Ben Collins in the boys 13 years 100 metre backstroke (P.B.1.18.62).

Lily Jarvis Keysell was awarded a 6th place medal in the girls 15 years 100 metre freestyle.

Faversham’s other swimmers with personal best times were Poppy Boorman in the girls 50 metre breaststroke (52.46), Rebecca Crouch girls 100 metre backstroke (1.25.54) and 100 metre freestyle (1.16.72). Lydia Scott girls 100 metre freestyle (1.09.33) and 50 metre breaststroke (41.87). Marty Boorman boys 100 metre individual medley (1.28.09) and Jasmine Locke girls 100 metre backstroke (1.26.56).

Other participating clubs at the Open were Ashford, 1066 Swimmers, Black Lion, Canterbury, Dover Life Guard, Folkestone, Gravesend and Northfleet, Greenwich Borough Mariners, Hythe Aqua, Larkfield, Maidstone, Orpington Ojays,  Petts Wood, Royal Tunbridge Wells Monson, Sevenoaks and Whiteoak.
