Kent time for Bella at Bromley Meet
Faversham S.C. competed in their final swimming event of the year this weekend when they attended the Bromley Christmas Gold Meet held at Medway Park, Gillingham. They raced against swimmers from Beachfield, Black Lion, Erith, Herne Bay and Thanet swim club along with the host club Bromley S.C.
Every Faversham swimmer achieved a personal best time (PB) as well as six club records (CR) being smashed with a total medal haul of 13. The swimmers improved their Kent Consideration Times (KCT) in many of their events too.
Bella Holt was in fine form gaining a super silver medal in her 11 yrs. 200m freestyle (2.32.01 PB/KCT/CR) and brilliant bronze medals in the 50m freestyle (32.89 PB/KCT/CR) and 100m freestyle (1.10.10 PB/KT/CR). Her super swims not only gained her club records in all her events but a Kent qualifying time (KT) in her 100m freestyle race too.
Nathan Williams’s strong swims also secured him medals in all his races with silver in the 14 yrs. 200m Individual Medley and bronze in the 200m freestyle (2.13.81 PB/KCT/CR) and 200m fly.
Faversham’s youngest swimmer competing was 9 year old Keira Drury. She won a total of 5 individual medals with silver in the 9 yrs. 50m breaststroke (54.42 PB) plus bronze in the 50m backstroke and 100m backstroke (1.44.85 PB). She completed her medal collection with 4th in 100m freestyle (1.40.66 PB) and 5th in the 50m freestyle.
Super silver medals were also achieved by Eva McIntyre (14 yrs. 200m breaststroke 3.10.21 PB) and Mia Kirk (15 + yrs. 50m backstroke). Mia’s final event of the day saw her break the club record for the 15 yrs. 50m fly (33.44 PB/KCT/CR).
Emily Holt claimed her club record during her 15+ yrs. 50m freestyle race. Her super sprinting rewarded her with a sub 30 second time of 29.98 (PB/KCT/CR).
Personal best times were gained by Amy Coupe, Molly Fletcher-Hebden, Samuel Hawkins, Emily Ing, Sophie Molton and Oscar Williams with all of them placing in the top 10 or higher.
The Faversham swimmers are now taking a well-earned Christmas break before they start preparations for the Kent County Championships at Crystal Palace and the London Aquatic Centre in 2018.
