Twenty-five swimmers from Faversham represented their
Swimming Club at the Dartford Spring Meet at Medway Valley Park on Saturday the
17th and Sunday the 18th March. Every single swimmer did their club proud and
they all worked together as a very strong and competitive team. There were 8 children all achieving PBs (
Havva Ibrahim, Gregor McRobb, Blake Pearce, Jessica Perkins, Ben Pittman,
Philip Rafeletos, Martha Roe and Eva Wade) for whom it was their first ever
Open Competition. The older more
experienced swimmers took them under their wings, showed them the ropes and
ensured that it was an enjoyable experience for them. The coaches that were present at the event
were very proud of the fantastic team spirit shown by all of the swimmers.
Sophie Molton confidently and expertly flew to a PB, Club
Record and Regional Base Time in the Girls 14 Years 50m Freestyle where she
swam with strength and determination. Molly Fordyce had a fantastic couple of days and was thrilled with her 7
medals ranging from 1sts to 3rds and PBs in the Girls 9 years category. Emily Holt picked up an impressive 4 medals
also in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the Girls 16+
category with an impressive Club Record for her 100m Fly. Mia Kirk also picked up 5 medals in the Girls
15 years age group with a 1st in the 200m Freestyle !

Girls 14 years 100m and 200m Breaststroke races and for Nathan Williams in the
Boys 15yrs 200m Fly, 100m Backstroke and 50m Backstroke. Keira Drury represented the club in an

There were numerous PB’s, Club Records and medals smashed
throughout the weekend by Jenna Appleton, Amy Coupe, Molly Fletcher-Hebden, Max
Fordyce, Samuel Hawkins, Isabella Holt, Scott Pearce, Ethan Sharman, Neve Smith
and Oscar Williams who all had fantastic swims.
The snow clearly did not chill the team spirit and
competitiveness shown by all twenty-five swimmers and they are all looking
forward to the next event which will be the Club Championships this weekend.
