A fantastic team of swimmers have taken part in their first gala of 2019 with successful swims and a super team spirit as always!!
It was the very first Open swimming competition for Guy Grundon and Lily Prizeman and they were well supported by their team and gave maximum effort in their races. Everyone was very proud of them. Guy swam in the 11 years Freestyle and Backstroke and earnt himself a PB in both. Lily swam in six 12/13 year old races and earnt 4 PB’s. Both swimmers should feel very proud of themselves!
Amy Coupe competed in the girls 16+ 50m Backstroke and managed to earn herself a Kent Time. There were 7 Kent Consideration Times throughout the weekend, with great swims to earn these from Emma Wickes, Bella Holt, Jessica Perkins and Molly Fletcher-Hebden. There were also Improved Kent Consideration Times for Amy Coupe, Emma Wickes, Bella Holt, Scott Pearce, Jessica Perkins, Max Fordyce, Molly Fletcher-Hebden and Oliver Edwards. We look forward to the publication of the swimmers that will be competing at the Kent County Championships in the next few weeks.
There were club records for Jessica Perkins in the 10 years 50m Freestyle, Oliver Edwards in the 15 years 50m Backstroke, Emma Wickes in the 16 years 100m Breaststroke and 200m Breaststroke and Emily Holt in the 17 years 400m IM, 50m Butterfly and 50m Freestyle. A huge congrats to all of these swimmers!
The coaches were, as always, incredibly proud of all of the swimmers and the hard work and dedication that they show to the sport and their support of their squad. The trio of girls, Lily, Havva and Maizie demonstrated their excellent team skills and were a strong team who worked well together. Jessica Perkins had an amazing weekend, with 5 swims and 5 Kent Consideration Times.
In addition there were PB’s and medals for Amber Gavin, Ethan Sharman, Guy Grundon, Havva Ibrahim, Lewis Edwards, Lily Prizeman, Mazie Kilgannon, Nancy Neagle, Philip Rafeletos, Violet Barnicott and Molly Fordyce.
A hugely successful weekend of swimming, we now look forward to a great 2019 with a fantastic, hard working group of swimmers.
